About This Quiz

In the NHL expansion in 1970, Vancouver Canucks was one of these newer teams. A former team that played in the city of Vancouver between 1945 and 1969, inspired its name.

In order to become the new franchise’s home, they build a new arena in Vancouver, the Pacific Coliseum, which would be the home of the Canucks from its debut until the mid-1990s, when they built the General Motors Place, now Rogers Arena.

There was a great deal of excitement at the formation of an NHL franchise within the city of Vancouver, and fans have always been eagerly supportive of it. In consequence, it became an integral part of the people’s culture and history, that’s why we are so proud to share this trivia with a team that has so much support from a whole city.

The Canucks won the 1982 playoff series against the Flames and Kings and went on to earn their way into the conference final against the Chicago Blackhawks. The team overcame their opponents and won the conference, winning the right to play in the Stanley Cup for the first time in its history, when they faced the New York Islanders.

For Vancouver, it was a misfortune to pick one of the hottest teams in the early 1980s, after all, it was the franchise’s first participation in the Cup final. They lost the championship.

Vancouver Canucks have once again succeeded in bringing together quality players, since the mid-2000s NHL and also managed to bring back its permanent captain, Trevor Linden. Despite having a good team, the franchise has missed several playoffs.

The Canucks had to decide if they would stay as a simple participant in the league or become a big dog in it, so they chose to hire a goalkeeper who was able to help the team accomplish their goal of winning the Stanley Cup. Roberto Luongo arrived in Vancouver. With a talented and very balanced team, the Canucks promised to be one of the main teams in that season. But unfortunately, they didn’t manage to get the title even after these investments.

Since 1970 the Canucks have won seven division champion titles, two conference champion titles, but no Stanley Cup. But as a fan you know the Cup will come eventually, this didn’t let your passion die. So take this quiz and show us how passionate for the Canucks you are!
