About This Quiz

The National Basketball Association is well-known for its competitive, fast-paced and exciting matches. But did you know that the National Basketball Association, commonly known as the NBA, actually started out as the Basketball Association of America (BAA)? It may not be surprising that the NBA’s name changed over time, but the history of how the league got here is. In 1946, three years after the end of World War II, a basketball fan named Maurice Podoloff was the president of the BAA and convinced the headman of the National Basketball League to merge their two leagues into one. Podoloff became the president of the new league, which became the NBA.
The NBA is the main basketball league in the world. The league has 30 teams from all over the US and a single team from Canada (Toronto Raptors). The association’s commissioner is Adam Silver. One of the subsidiaries is the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), where the women’s league takes place. The thirty teams are divided into east and west conferences. The east has its own finalists, as well as the west. Then, the two finalists from each conference dispute the final. The current season (2020-2021) started on December 1.
The only problem is the postponing of the Olympics will coincide with the NBA season. In March, the International Olympic Committee president, Thomas Bach, and Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, confirmed the postponement of the Olympics, which will take place between July 23 and August 8, 2021. The players with their unique personalities created a fun atmosphere in the field, with iconic dances, comic facial expressions, amazing style, etc. If you pay attention to everything that happens in the sport, you will notice that some players are huge influencers for the younger and the oldest generation. We have the famous “Taco Tuesday” from Lebron James and the iconic beard from James Harden. Not everyone can become a professional basketball player, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t test your knowledge about the NBA.
