About This Quiz

The history of the Cleveland browns is a rather long one. They were actually founded in 1945, as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference. Yes, they are one of the traditional teams and their fans love to mention it. This trivia will sure please this special fanbase.

Browns won the championship in their first NFL season, as well as in 1954, 1955, and 1964. They also played in every championship game they played in their first ten years. In the period between 1965 and 1995, they qualified to participate in the NFL playoffs 14 times but did not gain another championship or appear in another Super Bowl.

Owner Art Modell announced plans in 1995 to move the Browns to Baltimore. In early 1996, there was a compromise after Cleveland and the fans threatened legal action, allowing Modell to establish the Baltimore Ravens as a new franchise while keeping the contracts of all Brown’s staff.

Since their return to the NFL in 1999, after a ban from the league, the Browns have struggled throughout the 2000s and 2010s. As well as former President, Mike Holmgren, many of the 49ers personnel helped the Browns relaunch in 1999.  The team managed to have only three winning seasons since rejoining the league in 2002 and they have been in two playoff appearances only. As a result of the Lerner family selling the team to businessman Jimmy Haslam in 2012, the team’s struggles have increased. The Browns went through four head coaches and four general managers during the six years he owned the franchise, none of whom succeeded.

There’s only one team in the NFL that doesn’t have a logo on its helmet, and it’s the Browns. The Cleveland Browns’ helmets have been a burnt orange color with a top stripe of dark brown separated by a white stripe for much of their history.

There are rivalries between the Browns and their three AFC North opponents, the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions.

In the AAFC, the team’s most obvious rival was the San Francisco 49ers, but these rivalries have temporarily cooled due to the team performance.

Elvis Presley was the most famous fan of the Cleveland Browns. He became one after his friend Gene Hickerson, signed with the Browns in 1957 and played there for all of his careers. As well, former Browns defender, Bobby Franklin, was Presley’s friend. WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler, is also a fan of the Browns.
