About This Quiz

Founded in 1946 as a franchise in the All-America Football Conference, the San Francisco 49ers had Eddie DeBartolo as its founder, right after the end of World War II. The 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Dons in the first AAFC championship game to become the first West Coast team to win an NFL league title. During the 1950s and 1960s, the 49ers became a dynasty with five straight conference championships between ’51 and ’55, and then three in a row from ’56 to ’58.

The 49ers have a lot of victories in their history. Five Super Bowl titles from 1981 to 1995, all thanks to the legends players Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, with the coach Bill Walsh. They also won the division championship twenty times, from 1970 to 2019. This incredible team has been in the playoffs 27 times!

This a special moment that every fan of the 49ers must know. The legend Len Eshmont scored the first touchdown of the team. With amazing gameplay from his teammates Frankie Albert and John Strzykalski, Eshmont managed to get the first touchdown to the team on September 8, 1946, at Kezar Stadium.

When speaking about rivalry, the first one we have in mind is sure the St. Louis Rams. Most fans consider them to be one of the greatest rivalries in the history of this sport. That rivalry used to be way fiercely when the St. Louis team played in LA.

The 49ers logo and colors were first a mustache prospector, dressed in striped pants and a red T-shirt, jumping in the air with his hat falling and wielding two pistols, one in each hand. From the smoke of one of the pistols, the word “Forty-Niners” can be seen. But in 1962, it became the famous “SF” letters in the center of an oval red ball. Since then, the logo has kept the same base and didn’t change that much.
