About This Quiz

The Atlanta Falcons are a professional football team that competes in the NFL (The National Football League). The Atlanta Falcons are no doubt one of the most beloved NFL franchises around. In their relatively young history, they’ve won division titles and appeared in the Super Bowl, and they’ve got a legendary coach that’s been with the team since 1980. The team’s owner is also the owner of the NFL team that won the 2016 Super Bowl. Now, they’re poised for another Super Bowl run, and the support for the Falcons is stronger than ever.

The Atlanta Falcons have been a force in the NFL since 1966 when they were founded as an expansion team. The Falcons have been to the playoffs only three times, including the 1998 season when they advanced to Super Bowl XXXIII. Atlanta experienced a long drought from 1978 to 1991 when the team didn’t have a winning season, but all that changed when the Falcons hired former San Francisco 49ers head coach Dan Reeves, which changed the team completely.

In their 56 years of existence, Falcons have accumulated a record of 350-450-6 (341-437-6 in the regular season and 9-13 in the playoffs), winning division championships in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2016. The Atlanta Falcons participated in two Super Bowls, one in the 1998 Super Bowl, when they lost to the Denver Broncos 34-19, and the other in 2016, a 34- 28 in overtime for the New England Patriots at Super Bowl. The Falcons’ current stadium is the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in the 2017 season. The team headquarters and training facilities are located on a 20-acre site in Flowery Branch, northeast of Atlanta in Hall County.h

The colors of the Falcons are red, black, silver, and white. When the team started playing in 1966, the Falcons wore red helmets with a black hawk crest logo. In the center of the helmet was a central black band surrounded by two gold bands and two white stripes. These colors represented the two rival university schools in the state of Georgia: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (white and gold) and Georgia Bulldogs (red and black).

Although the gold was removed after several seasons, the white remains today. They wore white pants and black or white shirts. In the beginning, the hawk’s crest logo was also placed on the shirt’s sleeves but was replaced by a red and white stripe pattern four years later. They changed from a black to a redshirt in 1971 and the club started wearing silver pants in 1978. As a fan of the Falcons, how much do you really know about the team history? If you score well here you will be taken to another level of team supporter! Good luck.
