It would appear that sometimes, genetics can play a big part in becoming a famous celebrity. Here is a list of stars that you might not have realized were related to other, equally famous people.

The mother-daughter duo worked together in the 1999 film “Crazy in Alabama”, and the two are said to maintain a close relationship out of the public eye.

If the rumors are true, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is distantly related to Elle Fanning (and her sister, actress Dakota Fanning). Website Ancestry.com has alleged that the pair are 21st cousins and that they share common ancestor King Edward I. Elle Fanning made her acting debut alongside her sister in “I Am Sam” (as a younger version of Dakota), and more recently she was Aurora, starring in “Maleficent”, and the sequel “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”. Although it is not known if Princess Kate is aware of the family relationship, Fanning has called the connection “crazy”.
